Creatures of The Deep

Part of my portfolio for a story I'm visually developing. These are some sketches for some background characters, e.g. fish.

The over-arching story of the portfolio is this:

The world has been overtaken by a massive virus outbreak. The virus is spread via contact causes people to become feral, and makes them practically beastial. As one would imagine the virus spreads quickly and soon there are not many people left. To escape the horrors of the outbreak our main character, an already skiddish and skinny girl, dons a modern version of a Mark IV diving suit from her grandfather's nautical museum. She's then all alone in the vast, deep ocean. The story deals mostly with her trying to not only find a way to survive in her new world, but a reason to since, being all alone in a new hostile world has left her both dejected about the future and purposeless.
